My name is Amy and I am an experienced and accredited Person-Centred psychotherapist

I run a therapy practice in Nunhead (Southeast London) and online. I am drawn to the Person-Centred Approach because it reflects a way of being that feels meaningful to me: grounded in relationship, authenticity and a deep trust in each person’s capacity to understand themselves.

I have supported people from a diverse range of backgrounds, each with their own unique challenges and life experiences. As well as my private practice, I have several years of experience working in the charity sector, including in services supporting people who have experienced, or are at risk of, homelessness. This work brought me into contact with experiences of significant distress and complexity, including trauma, anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, compulsive or harmful coping strategies, grief and loss, instability, and feelings of uncertainty, lacking belonging and disconnection. These are experiences that many people will recognise in different forms across their lives.

I am aware that therapy takes place within a wider social and relational context, and that experiences of identity, power and belonging shape all of our lives. I aim to practise in a reflective and anti-oppressive way, and to be attentive to how these dynamics may be present in our work. If it feels helpful, we can also explore how different aspects of identity may interact and be present in your experience and in our work together.

I hold a MSc in Contemporary Person-Centred Psychotherapy and a Clinical Diploma in Person-Centred Psychotherapy from Metanoia Institute, a leading training institution for humanistic psychotherapy and counselling. These qualifications were completed as part of an intensive five-year training programme, and I graduated with distinction in both. I am accredited by the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I am fully insured and work in accordance with the ethical frameworks of the BACP and UKCP, and engage in regular supervision and continuing professional development.
